Recently, the group of Hartwig published a remarkable Iridium-catalysed hydroamination of ammonia surrogates to internal alkenes ('Catalytic asymmetric addition of an amine N–H bond across internal alkenes', DOI: 10.1038/s41586-020-2919-z). As our group has developed several hydroamination catalysts with exceptional activity and enantioselectivity, Professor Hultzsch was asked to share his views on this interesting study.
